As many would predict, Transit services across the Metro Vancouver region were feeling the impact of Sunday’s significant snowfall.
TransLink announced a number of service disruptions and delays as a result of the weather conditions.

As we can all imagine, transit users weren’t happy and took to social media to share their frustrations:

An hour and a half wait for a #Skytrain and then you can’t get on. People say they are freezing. @GlobalBC @AM730Traffic #lougheed pic.twitter.com/dePaYBbrRn

Help! We get a little #snowfall in #Vancouver, and the #Skytrain becomes nonfunctional. There is no usable direction or information. #Skytrainsucks pic.twitter.com/5FZbEr8L2U

I try not to take the #Skytrain between 8-10am but sometimes it’s unavoidable. Whenever there’s any sort of problem, like today, it’s insane. What’s the solution? I try not to drive but it’s becoming increasingly hard to avoid doing so (yes, I walk/bike when I can). #Vancouver pic.twitter.com/JUFUEs2O8d

On Monday morning, Environment Canada issued another snowfall warning that calls for an additional 10 – 15 cm of snow throughout the Metro Vancouver region.
Commuters should expect more delays throughout the day and motorists are asked to drive with caution.
