10. Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto, Canada

Among the first to open in 2012, the Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto is set to welcome guests January 31, 2012. At 900 feet, it will be Canada’s tallest building with 65 stories offering 261 cosmopolitan-style guestrooms and suites are exquisitely furnished in complementary color palettes inspired by Champagne and caviar. Highlights include their signature restaurant STOCK, headed by Executive Chef Todd Clarmo and a 18,000-sq-ft Spa and Wellness facility

9. Ritz-Carlton Okinawa, Japan

The Ritz-Carlton Okinawa is set to open in April 2012, following a two-year renovation and rebranding of the Kise Bettei Hotel and Spa. Situated within the Kise Country Club and surrounded by a 18-hole Championship course, The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa will offer 97 luxurious guest rooms with views over a golf course down to the East China Sea, the Motobu Peninsula and beyond to Ie Island. The newly hotel will feature three destination dining outlets, as well as a lounge and bar, an ESPA spa and full leisure facilities including a pool and gym.

8. Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, UK

Located in the posh neighbourhood of Knightsbridge, Bulgari will open its third property in April 2012. The newest Bulgari Hotel & Residences will consist of 12 ultra-chic storeys, half of them underground, 85 rooms and suites spread from 43 sq m up to vast two-bedroom apartments. The hotel will feature one restaurant serving gourmet Italian food; one 25-m long pool; one ballroom and a state-of-the-art Bulgari spa, in collaboration with Espa.

7. The Leela Palace Chennai, India

The Leela will open its first ever beachfront property in Chennai in the first quarter of 2012. Located in a quiet residential part of Chennai, abutting the Bay of Bengal and in close proximity to the landmark Chettinad Palace at Santhome, the Leela Palace Chennai will be developed on a 6.25-acre site. The 14 storeyed high-rise hotel will have approximately 329 rooms suites and 36,000 sq ft meeting and conference facilities. The architecture inspired by the royal, opulent Chettinad dynasty, will be offset by the grand expanse of the azure blue seas.

6. Four Seasons Hotel Pudong, Shanghai

Opening mid-2012, the Four Seasons Pudong with its luxe interiors and modern lines will be heavily inspired by Shanghai’s Art Deco period of the 1920s. The hotel will be Four Seasons second hotel in China. On eleven floors of the 21st Century Tower, in the heart of the Lujiazhui financial zone, the Hotel is a haven of sleek, contemporary comfort with wall-to-wall views of the ever-changing Pudong skyline.

5. Conrad New York, US

Scheduled to open late 2011, the Conrad New York will be the fifth Conrad to open in the United States and the first in New York City. Located near New York City’s Financial District, the hotel offers 463 luxuriously appointed guestrooms with magnificent views of the Hudson River. The hotel will also feature three upcoming restaurants from renowned New York City restaurateur Danny Meyer, whose Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) owns the beloved Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park and Maialino, among others.

4. JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai

Dubai will open the world’s tallest freestanding hotel in mid-to-late 2012, also home to the JW Marriot Marquis. At 365 m the twin towers of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel will be the second and third tallest skyscrapers in Dubai. This is only the second Marriott Marquis in the world and is expected to open in two phases. The first with 800 rooms and the second tower will bring the total number of deluxe five-star rooms up to 1,614.

3. Anantara Luxury Lodges, Abu Dhabi

The Al Sahel Lodge by Anantara is expected to open in the second quarter of 2012. Situated in the heart of the 4,100-hectare Arabian Wildlife Park, Al Sahel Lodge is in the western part of Sir Bani Yas Island in the Arabian Gulf – accessible by a boat transfer or charter flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Designed with traditional thatched roofs, the exterior complements the natural surrounding while the interiors embrace ultimate comfort in simple elegance. The lodges will offer 30 Luxury Villas, each with their own plunge pool.
