The Skytrax World Airport Awards, announced today that Vancouver International Airport is the best airport in North America, for the third year in a row! The award is based on an independent survey of 12 million passengers from 108 various countries. The survey’s question travellers to answer the survey based on 39 criteria, including the airports cleanliness, design and layout, clarity of flight information and signs, luggage handling and transportation, retail facilities and design and layout.
YVR has opened a public transportation deck in recent years, to add to the airports ambiance. As well, has added an aquarium, spa, dozens of pieces of West Coast Vancouver based art work that make our airport stand out when compared to others.
