As always, Whistler celebrates our nations birthday in style, and this year will be no exception. Whistler is the perfect place to celebrate Canada Day for those who want to make the long weekend into a little city getaway. Those that will be up in Whistler this Canada Day long weekend can expect Celebration Concerts at Whistler Olympic Plaza, a parade, Canadian carnival, and of course fireworks.
Whistler Street Entertainment presents A Canadian Carnival, which will take place June 28 through July 2, starting at noon and ending at 7 pm. The carnival will involve tons of activities for everyone in the family, including face painting, circus performances, balloon hats, games and crafts! The carnival will take place throughout various locations in Whistler Village.
Canada Day Celebration Concerts will take place on June 29, 30 & July 1, from 8:30 pm to 10 pm. Performers haven’t been announced yet, but they will be performing at the Whistler Olympic Plaza Pavilion.
Canada Day Parade will take place on July 1 beginning at 12 pm, no estimations to when the parade will end, but will follow a route through Whistler Village, to Whistler Town Plaza, then towards Mountain Square.
Canada Day Fireworks will take place on July 1 at 10:15 pm. Wondering where you should view them from? We suggest viewing this year’s night sky performance from Skiers Plaza at the base of Whistler Mountain in the Village.
Independence Day Fireworks will take place on July 4 at 10:15pm, we suggest viewing them from the same spot we suggested for the Canada Day Fireworks, at the base of Whistler Mountain at Skiers Plaza in the Village.
This long weekend sounds promising for the entire family, and a great opportunity for a little getaway this Canada Day long weekend!
