Vancouver Cafe Honors Harjit Sajjan With Namesake Burger

It’s not every day a Minister of National Defence gets a burger in his or her honour, but then again it’s not every day a Minister is as badass as Harjit Sajjan.

Sajjan, who represents the Vancouver-South riding is currently back in Vancouver for the Liberal’s first minister meeting, alongside Justin Trudeau who’s also in town for Globe 2016.

In between his busy schedule, Sajjan stopped by Vancouver’s The Cannibal Cafe to sample his namesake burger: The Minister of National Deliciousness.

The cafe introduced the burger last month, which quickly earned the ‘February’s Burger of the Month’ title and has since become a part of the regular menu.

The burger comes with a tandoori chicken patty, topped with butter chicken sauce, pakoras, a splash of yogurt, along with cucumbers and cilantro.

Seconds into taking his first bite, Sajjan approved of the burger with a thumbs up and smile.

“It’s got pakoras on it. Who would’ve thought to put it into a burger? Now that, that makes sense.” said Sajjan.

The Minister expressed his appreciation of the experience, and made sure to sign off on a chalkboard featuring a cartoon version of himself.
