Rare ‘Strawberry Moon’ To Be Visible Over Vancouver Tonight

It’s officially the first day of summer, and the day happens to coincide with June’s full moon.

The result will be a rare “Strawberry Moon” celestial event over metro Vancouver tonight, the first of its kind since 1967.

Don’t let the name fool you however.

The rare moon on display Monday night  won’t exactly be reddish, but rather feature a very low amber glow.

The twice in a generation event was dubbed by North Americans to signal the start of strawberry / fruit picking season.

The next strawberry moon over Vancouver won’t occur until 2062, so it’s highly recommended you catch it tonight!
