Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the majority of Metro Vancouver with heavy rain expected throughout Wednesday.
According to the alert, a pair of weather systems are travelling through the region today with 50-60 mm of rain expected for the North Shore and 10-20 mm of rain total expected for Tsawwassen and Delta.

The upslope flow from the Port Mellon to Gibsons stretch is expected to receive between 50-80 mm of rain.
“A rain shadow to the lee of the Olympic Mountains is likely to create a large variation in total rainfall amounts across Metro Vancouver. “
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to keep an eye out for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
