Not all calls for service may require a visit from law enforcement; however, Delta Police assure that, while unusual, a recent call involving a possum wasn’t too small for them.
On Monday, June 4th, Delta Police tweeted an image of a possum huddled in a shower stall. Within the tweet, they note the absurdity of the situation, and that is extremely rare.
“However when it’s nearly midnight, there aren’t many options to remove a possum from your shower. The possum was highly displeased, but we got it safely out, and back to the wild,” the tweet continues.

Police Remove Possum
Police get all types of calls for help, but this was unusual even by our standards. However when it’s nearly midnight, there aren’t many options to remove a possum from your shower. Of course, some twitter users are having fun with the eccentric and rare incident.
One user, who goes by the username @MrGigaSloth, jokes how, “Once again dedicated officers of the law prove that, with the right attitude, nothing is im-possum-ble.”
In contrast, other users seem perplexed the odd animals are local inhabitants.
“How weird is it that I didn’t even know we had opossums in the lower mainland?” remarks @WGrrrl.
While possums are cute, they may attack when they feel threatened. As such, it is always prudent to remain calm around them and not corner or provoke them.
