Two popular North Vancouver trails have been forced to close due to heavy rainfall damage.
This is a result of the severe rainfall that Metro Vancouver experienced throughout the week, which saw as much as 80mm fall Thursday night.
At Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, parts of the lower Lynn Loop Trail have washed out, making it unsafe. While park staff are assessing damage and repairing the trail, it will remain closed. People are asked to please use the upper Lynn Loop Trail during this time.
At Grouse Mountain Regional Park, a portion of the Baden-Powell Trail has also been washed out. Park staff are creating a reroute around the damaged portion.
Metro Vancouver Regional Parks says that they will provide updates as soon as they can.
