Metrotown Introduces New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Metropolis at Metrotown is proud to announce the installation of 10 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as part of its growing sustainability mandate. Six charging station are now available for retail customers, with another four charging stations set aside for office tower employees.

The EV charging stations are Metropolis at Metrotown’s latest initiative in its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. The shopping centre has already introduced a comprehensive recycling program and made the switch to high efficiency LED light bulbs. The EV charging stations are available free of charge from 7 am to 11 pm seven days a week.

Metropolis at Metrotown also offers shoppers alternative green transportation. The Metrotown skytrain station serves the second highest number of skytrain passengers on the Expo Line and the Metrotown bus loop connects with 12 major bus routes across the Lower Mainland.

Additional green transportation options are available for office tower employees and include two bike lockers (also available for retail employees), reduced rate for carpool parking, seven motorcycle stalls, free electric bike parking and a discount Translink fare program.
