For over 40 years, The Boathouse has been serving up fresh seafood, steaks, and fantastic service throughout Metro Vancouver. Unfortunately, times have gotten especially tough for restaurants.
It is very sadly official: The Boathouse will be closing shop for two of its locations.
A VETERAN RESTAURANT
The Boathouse has a long history of having fantastic food and equally fantastic waterfront views. They’re well-known for their superb service and excellent menu. And you can’t forget about that spectacular rooftop patio and the amazing vistas it overlooks.

With their beginnings in Coal Harbour in 1981, The Boathouse has since expanded throughout the Lower Mainland with many other storefronts, as well having an ownership change from Vancouver hands to the American dining and hospitality corporation Landry’s Inc.
There have been some closures here and there for The Boathouse. First, their flagship Coal Harbour location was moved to English Bay, which then closed in October 2018. Then came Richmond’s closure in 2020.
The Kitsilano, New Westminster, White Rock, and Port Moody locations have made it to 2025, although that is soon to change.
THE CLOSURES
Now, the White Rock and Kitsilano locations will have to be taken off that list. We have confirmed with The Boathouse White Rock and Kitsilano that they will be shutting their doors as of September 21, 2025.

The Boathouse Kitsilano also confirmed to us that this is due to their leases expiring.
The New Westminster and Port Moody locations will remain open.
This iconic and long-standing restaurant will be missed in these two beautiful spots of the city. Although, you still have time to swing by both locations before their doors are shuttered. By the end of September, The Boathouse White Rock and Kitsilano will be no more.
