Join Wesgroup in River District Town Centre for a vibrant, high-energy Lunar New Year celebration led by Vancouver Lion Dance. This one-hour event brings together traditional Southern-style lion dance, live music, and ceremonial moments that mark the start of a prosperous new year.
The performance features four Southern-style lions—both large and small—appearing alongside warrior drummers, the God of Fortune, and a full live percussion ensemble of drums, cymbals, and gong. The highlight of the event is the main lion performance, followed by the eye-dotting ceremony, a traditional ritual believed to awaken the lions and invite good fortune.
Guests can also enjoy the lucky lettuce ceremony, symbolizing the spreading of wealth and prosperity, and the presentation of lucky scrolls. The event concludes with a 15-minute photo session, offering a chance to capture the moment with performers in full costume.
