Vancouver is celebrating Lunar New Year with LunarFest 2026! With concerts, workshops, and a beautiful Lantern City lighting up downtown, you are invited to embrace the Year of the Horse with a cultural celebration like no other.

LunarFest 2026 is an annual festival that showcases the rich traditions of Lunar New Year through a variety of activities, events, and sights. This year’s artistic direction is focused around “Brave the Wind,” calling for courage and the strength to move forward through life’s challenges with grace and openness.

The festival takes place from February 14 to 28, with events happening all throughout the two weeks (and some for even more). Attendees can expect:
- Lunar Concert (Feb. 24): A night of music, arts, and storytelling, featuring international artists and local musicians.
- Lunar Workshop (Feb. 14 – 16, 21 – 22): Take part in various arts workshops to celebrate the Lunar New year with creativity and storytelling.
- Lunar Trivia (Feb. 14 -16, 21 – 22): The first-ever trivia game LunarFest will be hosting, offering the chance to claim a special prize when you answer enough questions correctly.
- The Lantern City (Feb. 2 – March 9): A beautiful array of lantern-themed art installations, with giant lanterns decorating various locations, including galleries.
