Fall in Metro Vancouver is all about crisp nights, colourful leaves, and finding ways to get outside before winter hits. One of the best ways to do that? Head to Bear Creek Park in Surrey, where the beloved Bear Creek Lights event is back for its 13th year, lighting up the garden from November 7 to 21 (closed November 11 for Remembrance Day).
This year’s edition brings an immersive one-kilometre walking path lined with dazzling light displays, a lighted tunnel, and interactive photo ops that highlight the natural beauty of the park. Whether you’re looking for a romantic stroll, a fun family outing, or just the perfect backdrop for your next post, this free event has you covered.

What To Expect
Bear Creek Park transforms after dark into a magical wonderland. Expect vibrant light displays, enchanted forest scenes, and a few surprises hidden along the trail.
And yes, food trucks will be there serving warm drinks, mini doughnuts, and handheld bites, because no night walk is complete without snacks. With nearly 40,000 visitors last year, this event is one of Surrey’s most popular fall attractions.

On select nights, you can also catch live performances, storytime sessions with Surrey Libraries, or join a guided nature walk to learn about local wildlife. Check below for the full list of programming.

Family-Friendly & Accessible

The event is designed to be safe and accessible, with flat, paved pathways perfect for strollers or mobility aids. Washrooms are available on-site, and the entire setup is meant to be as welcoming as possible. To make things smoother this time around, entry is from parking lots off 88 Avenue and 140 Street.
Booking free entry tickets in advance is highly recommended. Entry times are available every 30 minutes from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm Sunday to Thursday, and 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm Friday to Saturday. While drop-in spots may be limited, planning ahead ensures you don’t miss out. The event runs rain or shine (unless there’s extreme weather).
