The Vancouver Canucks have announced that they will auction off Roberto Luongo’s Heritage Classic equipment in support of the 15th annual Canucks For Kids Fund Dice and Ice Benefit.
According to their website, fans will be able to bid on Luongo’s autographed Heritage Classic pads, glove, and blocker which are themed with Vancouver Millionaires colouring.
True Canucks fans probably have a smile on their face given the irony of the situation. During the Heritage Classic last year in Vancouver, Roberto Luongo was snubbed from playing, and instead Eddie Lack got the start. The move ultimately led to Luongo’s trade to Florida.
Moments after the auction announcement, Lu sent out a tweet:
@VanCanucks @Canucksforkids great deal here for a great cause! Plus they're like brand new, never been used…….
