UPDATE: As of 8:00pm, Alex Fraser Bridge has reopened.
Another case of falling ice has forced the closure of Alex Fraser Bridge until further notice.
At approximately 11:00 am on Saturday morning, DriveBC issued a statement about the closure, advising motorists to use the Pattullo Bridge or Massey Tunnel to cross the Fraser River.

Crews initially closed two of the three lanes on each side of the bridge earlier this morning, but the threat of continued falling ice has led to the temporary closure.
The announcement comes in the midst of a snowstorm and days after multiple drivers reported damage from ice falling from the crossing’s overhead.
