In metro Vancouver, one of the earliest signs of spring is when local cherry blossom trees begin to blossom. Despite happening every year, it doesn’t stop us from getting cherry-blossom fever. For those looking to soak in the floral fireworks without leaving their city, you can find trees in the following areas below.
Cherry Blossoms In Metro Vancouver

Burnaby
- On Russell Ave, from Nolan St. to Bryant, situated behind the Metrotown Mazda dealership.
- On both sides of the street at Gilley Avenue and Dickens St.
- On Kingsway, under the Metrotown overpass
- On both sides of Oxford street, between Rosser and Willingdon.
Delta
- Outside the George Mackie Library’s front entrance, situated on 112 and 84
- On the corner of River Road and 47A street, you’ll find just under 10 Whitcomb trees lighting up the area.
Langley
- From 62 Ave to 64 Ave, you’ll find dozens of Rancho trees grouped together in a circle along 193B St.
- From Walnut Grove Senior Secondary down to 88th.

Vancouver
- On East 3rd Avenue from Rupert Street to Skeena Street, right outside the front entrance of the Akali Singh Sikh Temple.
- On Cypress Street you’ll find a line of trees just past West 4th.
- Surrounding Burrard Skytrain Station, arguably one of the best places to visit for cherry blossoms galore.
- Inside Queen Elizabeth Park. Cherry Blossoms can be found in groups throughout the park, including the entrance on 33rd from Cambie.
- On Granville Island, just outside the community centre in Sutcliffe Park, and also along the edge near the False Creek seawall.
New West
- There’s numerous Kanzan trees from 15th Ave on 1st street all the way down to 11th ave.
- Numerous Ukon trees fill up the whole block of Hastings between Agnes and Wellington, north of the Patullo Bridge.
Surrey
- Along 158 St and 102 Ave – great location for a drive by.
- Countless Akebono trees in the Boundary Park Gardens, situated on 121St and 63Ave.
Richmond
- Just under 10 large ‘Whitcomb’ trees at Hazelbridge and Alexandra.
- Nearly a dozen Pandora trees on the north side of 8655 Jones.
Port Coquitlam
- In Veteran’s Park, situated at 2580 Shaughnessy Street across City Hall.
White Rock
- Outside the White Rock Public Library and City office, you’ll find nearly a dozen Shirofugen trees.
- On 141 street south from 28 Ave. You’ll find trees on both sides, making it perfect for a drive by.
- Around 10 trees at the cul-de-sac on 19A Ave from 131 street.
