Say goodbye to all that warm summer weather because this week is going to see some major downpours. According to a forecast from The Weather Network, B.C. is kicking off September with rain and winds.

Heavy Rainfall in B.C.
A low-pressure system is pushing in B.C. this week, with heavy rains building through Tuesday in the North Coast. The Weather Network predicts localized totals of 200mm for the North Coast’s mountains.
Once night falls on Tuesday, the cold front will be coming to the northwestern tip of Vancouver Island, where you can expect increased rainfall rates and winds. The South Coast will see those southeasterly winds on Wednesday.
Coastal areas should be prepared for winds up to 70 km/h, and potentially stronger gusts in certain areas. Although, the winds should let up overnight Wednesday.
With the stormy weather rolling through, it’s best to be prepared for potential power outages. Likewise, ferry travellers may experience delays, and drivers should practice caution during the heavy rainfall as the weather reduces visibility and creates runoff pools on roads.
The system won’t be here for long, though. Drier conditions could be coming for the second week of September in B.C. as the active weather pauses due to “ridging in the northeastern Pacific.”
