Prepare to be hit with some serious nostalgia, Vancouver. The Memphis Grizzlies just announced that they’ll be bringing back the beloved Vancouver Grizzlies throwback uniforms for select games in the 2024-25 season to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary.
Vancouver’s teal and white jerseys, cherished by locals, are still seen as some of the most unique and stylish in NBA history, and they’ll soon be making a comeback on the court.

Originally introduced when the team was launched as an expansion team in 1995, these classic uniforms will be worn for a handful of Memphis games this season.
Though the team left Vancouver after six short seasons to relocate to Memphis, the team left a lasting impact on the city’s sports history. While they struggled on the court, some unforgettable memories were made with players like Bryant “Big Country” Reeves, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, and Mike Bibby.

For Vancouverites, the return of these jerseys is a reminder of the excitement surrounding the city’s first NBA team—turquoise uniforms, claw marks and all—and a chance to relive a piece of local history.

Catch the Grizzlies sporting the Vancouver-inspired throwbacks during their 2024-25 season as they honour the team’s origins in our city. It’s a visual callback to a time when the Grizzlies were Canada’s other NBA team, right next to the Toronto Raptors.
Though the team may have moved on, the spirit of the Vancouver Grizzlies remains alive—especially in these iconic threads.
