Often, domestic travel within Canada is extremely expensive, even when the flights are relatively short; however, Swoop airlines is introducing a viable alternative to high fares.
Launching their first flights on Wednesday, June 20th, the low-cost carrier launches flights on a number of domestic routes across the nation.
Calling themselves the “Robin Hood of all Airlines,” they claim their fleet of white jets with bold, neon pink lettering will change the Canadian travel industry.
And, with fares for as little as $39 out of Abbotsford to Edmonton, it is hard to argue that assertion. For now, they enable more residents the opportunity to travel for far less than the cost of regular WestJet or Air Canada tickets.

Swoop: Things to keep in Mind
If it seems to good to be true, that’s because there are a couple of catches. For example, seat selection, seat upgrades, carry-on and checked baggage, food & beverage service and in-flight entertainment are not included in the all-in fare.
Also, because they are hoping to hold as many passengers as possible on each plane for the low fares, they will sacrifice extra leg-room for additional seats. Say goodbye to leg stretching!
With that in mind, many of these fares are still unbeatable, even if with these ad-ons. Further, you don’t have to include these if you simply want to travel from A to B on the cheap.
Happy flying!
