You’re invited to a peaceful and welcoming celebration in Vancouver’s East Side. Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society is opening its doors for its annual Buddha’s Birthday Assembly & Open House, a two-day event that invites the public to experience Buddhist traditions, connect with community, and explore the temple’s unique heritage.
At the heart of the celebration is the Buddha Bathing Ceremony—a symbolic tradition where guests pour water over a statue of the infant Buddha. This act represents the cleansing of negative emotions and a renewal of compassion, wisdom, and peace. Whether you’re familiar with Buddhism or just curious, this is a meaningful moment to reflect and reconnect.

Beyond the ceremony, the event features guided temple tours, interactive cultural exhibitions, and community booths offering a glimpse into the temple’s history and mission. It’s a great opportunity to meet local volunteers, learn about Buddhist philosophy, and take in the stunning architecture and peaceful atmosphere of this spiritual space.
Everyone is welcome, and admission is free.
