Get those hiking boots back on, the Grouse Grind has officially re-opened.

It opened bright at early on May 2, and closed down again on May 22nd for scheduled safety maintenance.

The Grouse Grind will reopen in 3-4 weeks, according to Metro Vancouver Regional Parks.

The safety maintenance includes rock scaling, danger tree removal, step repair, and safety net replacement.

The 2.9KM trail has been closed since January 19th due to snow and ice. However, the warmer temperatures that the city has been receiving lately have cleared most of the snow, making it safe for visitors.

“We know this is welcome news for Grouse Grinders throughout the region who have been looking forward to the great workouts that Grouse Mountain Park provides,” said Heather Deal, Chair of Metro Vancouver’s Regional Parks Committee.

The Grouse Grind Trail is open daily from 6:15AM to 6PM. You can sign up for updates about the trail here.

Make sure to stay warm, bring water, snacks, and appropriate footwear.
