Surrey is home to the largest living wall in all of North America. Living walls are more commonly known as green walls, vertical gardens or mur vegetal. They are green, space savers, eye-catchers and often a work of art.

“Mountains & Trees, Waves & Pebbles, created by Green over Grey is located at Guildford Town Centre in Surrey. The mall underwent a three-phase redevelopment project from 2010-2014 including a 200,000 square-foot expansion of retail space and a food court accommodating over 1,000 seats. The surface spans around 10,150 square-feet across the mall walkway and bus exchange overpass. There are upwards of 45,000 individual plants spanning over 110 species.

The inside of the Guildford mall also features a pair of feature green walls titled “Celebration (of Nature)”. The wall panels featured 1380 square-feet of vegetated area with over 8,000 individual plants spanning 59 species.
