Antonin Baudry’s two-part historical film follows Charles de Gaulle’s refusal to accept France’s 1940 armistice and his efforts to continue the fight. The story also brings attention to resistance fighters from Africa and France’s colonies, a lesser-known part of the Second World War.
This is the films’ first presentation in Western Canada. Both films are presented in French.
- Saturday, November 7 at 12 pm: Part 1, The Iron Age (Resistance)
- Sunday, November 8 at 12 pm: Part 2, I Write Your Name (Freedom)
Individual tickets and a $28 double ticket for both screenings are available. This presentation is presented by Visions Ouest Productions with Park Theatre, in collaboration with Alliance Française Vancouver and Le Relais francophone de la C.-B.
