Spring is slowly approaching, and the weather definitely doesn’t feel like any winter Vancouver has ever had before. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and some cherry blossom trees are even blooming way ahead of schedule.
It’s one of the city’s most beautiful times of the year. Vancouver becomes a complete storm of pink, with cherry blossom trees blossoming on every corner you look. Every time a breeze comes by, the petals fly off and Vancouver looks like something out of a movie.
With cherry blossom season comes the inevitable onslaught of people gathering around the trees to get that perfect pic. In honour of Vancouver’s most picturesque time of the year, let’s look back on some of the best cherry blossom shenanigans from past years.
Cherry Blossom Madness In Vancouver
Aptly titled “cherryblossommadness”, an Instagram account has been working on chronicling the antics of Vancouverites getting their cherry blossom pics over the years. Her house happens to be located in a flowery hot spot, so she sees plenty of interesting folks trying to get their Instagram-worthy photos.

Some memorable moments include someone dressed-up like a dinosaur, an Easter Bunny showing up, and tons of people driving and taking pictures at the same time. There’s also plenty of people bringing their own stepladders to get up close and personal with the blossoms.

Cherryblossommadness advocates for respecting people’s lawns and the trees, so be sure to remember to keep off the grass and don’t take branches this year (or any time of the year, really). And remember to pick up any trash you might leave behind, as well as any props you’re bringing for those pics.
