“I was called a sexual deviant, a bad influence, even a heathen, for talking about the evolution of reproductive behavior in an award-winning series,” said Dr. Bondar. “So I thought, fine. I’ll give them something to talk about… a stage show!”
Through spoken word, multi-media mashups, musical parody and biting wit, Dr. Bondar refashions her experience as a celebration of biology, feminism, and unapologetic excellence. This is evolution told with rhythm, reason, and a healthy dose of righteous rage. Think from the animal kingdom’s kinkiest courtships to the absurd double standards of politics.
A Show To Remember
Known globally for her books Wild Sex and Wild Moms, and for bringing evolutionary biology to screens from Discovery to Netflix to National Geographic, Bondar has made a career out of teaching people that reproductive diversity is science, not sin.
The show premieres April 1 and 2, 2026, at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. There, Bondar has long been an active member of the community as a mother of four, School Trustee, University Instructor and an Advocate for Women in STEM. Adventures in Wild Sex is equal parts musical theatre, biology lesson and satirical storytelling.
“This show is a love letter to science, to self-discovery, and to everyone who’s ever been told they were ‘too much.’”
It’s about the real science of attraction. The politics of shame. And the strength it takes to keep dancing when the patriarchy demands you to keep still.
