On November 29th, 2024, Make Change Market will be hosted at Heritage Hall in Vancouver, in honour of Small Business Saturday.

Organized by Employ to Empower (ETE) and sponsored by Coast Capital Savings, this pop-up market will feature a variety of products such as handmade bags from recycled materials, artisan soaps, teas, reclaimed wood home goods, and more! The entrepreneurs featured are members of ETE, who are individuals who live with multiple barriers.

This market provides a platform for these entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses, connect with a broader audience, and build not only a client base but also confidence and social connectedness. It’s an opportunity that many would not otherwise have access to, allowing them to thrive in a supportive, community-driven environment.

The event will also featured guest vendor BAK’D Cookies, and raffle prizes such as Kayak/Paddle Board for 2 with Vancouver Water Adventures, Tickets to the Vancouver Christmas Market Chocolates from BETA5, Necklace from Zaleska, and gift cards to Total Pet, Rain or Shine and more!

About Employ to Empower (ETE):

ETE is an award winning, local Vancouver charity that empowers low-income communities to overcome barriers to employment using entrepreneurship. Barriers can include mental or physical health challenges, disability, and recovery from addiction. Currently, lots of amazing charities help with short term survival needs like clothing, food and housing. We at ETE are the next step, we empower people to thrive through building capacity with skills training, mentorship, counselling, and paid leadership opportunities. Since 2018, 402 people have taken our program, with an average completion rate of 87%. Our community has taught us that when people receive resources to overcome barriers, it inspires them to dream big for themselves and to empower others to unlock their potential.
