Surrey's Most Wanted / Syrian Refugees Pepper Sprayed Outside Vancouver 'Welcome Event'

The Vancouver police had an interesting start to their Friday which ultimately resulted in one of their cruisers crashing into the front windows of a Burnaby dollar store.

According to reports, police officers in a marked car noticed two people fighting on the corner of Columbia and East Hastings Street at 1:30 am. The officers turned on their sirens and parked their cruiser on the 100-block of East Hastings and got out. While arresting one of the men involved in the fight, a female allegedly snuck into the police vehicle and fled the scene.

The police department was able to use the GPS system inside the car to track it down, which showed that the thief drove down east on Hastings and entered Burnaby. She turned south on Willingdon and ultimately slammed into the dollar store situated on 406 Willingdon Ave.

Reports indicate she immediately fled the scene, but was arrested shortly after. She was not hurt from the crash, and now faces charges of theft over $5,000 at the minimum.
