While so many Vancouverites dread the snow, the one place it’s always welcomed is in Whistler.

The mountain set a new record for December after having a total of 384 centimeters of snow throughout the month.

Record-Breaking Snowfall

Skiers and snowboarders celebrated as the record-breaking snowfall surpassed the old record by four centimeters, set back in 1994.

The snow hasn’t stopped yet.

The mountain resort has always been a tourist attraction for many, just ask Justin Trudeau and Mark McMorris, they hit up the slopes on the weekend.

Whistler Blackcomb has now seen a total of 627 centimeters of snowfall this season. With more snow on the forecast, Whistler might be breaking even more records.

With all 8,171 acres of the mountain now open for the public, it might be a good time to learn how to ski.
