Special Weather Forecast Calls For Up To 5 cm Of Snow On Coquihalla Highway

More snow is on the way. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Coquihalla Highway that will impact the area through Saturday morning.

The special weather statement in effect for:

  • Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt
  • Highway 3 – Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass

“An upper level disturbance moving southward over the coast BC will usher in a colder airmass for the interior” reads the weather statement.

Rain or wet snow over highway passes will change to snow this evening or overnight. The Coquihalla Highway and Highway 3 could see up to 5 cm of snow, which will taper off Saturday morning.

People are asked to be cautious when driving and be aware of changing road conditions as the day moves along.
