VanDusen’s Festival Of Lights Back For 2012

Back for it’s 2012 season, VanDusen’s Festival of Lights is back and better than ever!

Festival of Lights takes VanDusen’s botanical garden and transforms it into a bright, magical winter oasis! Millions of tiny, colourful lights, are attached to the gardens various trees, shrubs, and flower beds, creating a beautiful evening scene.

Highlights for this year include

  • Santa’s living room – meet and great the big man himself! From the 7th – 24th stop by at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, or 8:30
  • Dancing Lights on Livingstone Lake – from 4:30 pm onwards, there will be 2 different shows either at the top of the hour or the half of the hour, so every 30 minutes you have a show to look forward to!
  • Svend and Jens the elves, will appear nightly at the Centre Court
  • Golden Chain Walk
  • Gingerbread Wood
  • Community Choirs at the Entrance Plaza
  • Candy Cane Lane
  • Make-A-Wish Candle Shrine & Room of Joy – featuring Winter Wonderland made by Vancouver’s Lego Club
  • Sparkling Spruce in the Centre Court
  • Candy Cane Express model train

Guests can also look forward to a variety of food options! Which includes:

  • Dinner at the Shaughnessy Restaurant – reservations recommended
  • Truffles Café – no reservations necessary
  • Dr. Waffle – Cash Only
  • Mrs.Claus’ Kitchen – Cash Only
  • Shaughnessy Snack Bar – Cash Only
  • Truffles Soup Shak – Cash Only

Festival of Lights will run until New Years, January 1, 2013, and opens December 7, 2012. The one day it will be closed is December 25, 2012. Normal hours for the Festival are from 4:30 pm to 9 pm!
