Should Vancouver’s Unlicensed Pot Shops Move To The Suburbs?

The clock is ticking for the majority of Vancouver’s marijuana dispensaries as all but few have until Friday, April 29 to close doors and avoid fines.

Realistically, the options for business owners are to close down shop, fight back (a tough uphill battle), or move outside of the city border into nearby municipalities including Burnaby and Richmond.

While it appears neighboring municipalities are also uncomfortable with unlicensed pot shops, they don’t quite have their foot down like the City of Vancouver with a scheduled crackdown in place.

The move could also buy some brands time if they’re hopeful of eventually getting a license to operate legally in Vancouver.
