All good things must come to an end.
The Vancouver Whitecaps witnessed this first hand, dropping a crucial Western Conference game in Seattle against a strong Sounders team by the score of 3-0.
Prior to Wednesday’s loss, the Whitecaps had won seven in a row.
Vancouver now faces a crucial stretch on the road. They hold a single point lead now over three teams – Seattle, Portland, and Sporting KC. They visit Kansas City on Saturday.
Coach Robinson is still confident in his team and says one loss won’t decide their season.
“We played some very good stuff in certain areas today with the ball better than we probably have in the last two or three games, but again it comes down to fine lines”.
Robinson was also asked by a reporter after the match if he’s concerned heading into the playoffs.
“No not all you can’t win every game”.
The match was also Fredy Montero’s first game back in Seattle and he remains confident in what his team can achieve moving forward.
“We’re confident we know that the rest of the games that we have are going to be difficult, but we’re going to look for our playoff spot”.
A loss like this may sting right now but the Vancouver Whitecaps understand that they can learn from this experience.
