Metro Vancouver Weather Forecast Calling For 60mm Of Heavy Rainfall

Vancouver Weather Forecast

Here we go again.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning that’s in effect for:

  • City of Vancouver – including Burnaby and New Westminster
  • Metro Vancouver – northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
  • North Shore – including West Vancouver and North Vancouver

This is just the latest weather warning for the Metro Vancouver area. Strong winds and torrential rainfall on Tuesday caused flash flooding and even forced the SkyTrain to a screeching halt.

Metro Vancouver Weather Forecast

Heavy rain is forecasted for tonight and Thursday with rainfall totals of up to 60 millimetres. The rain, at times heavy, will develop late this afternoon or early this evening with the arrival of a moisture-laden frontal wave.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Monitor Environment Canada for updates on the upcoming Metro Vancouver Weather Forecast.
