Office lunches haven’t changed much over the years. Monthly tiffin meal and bento-style box subscriptions are an age-old convenience in Asia, out here in the west we are accustomed to daily food carts or take out boxes.
If you work in a large office then maybe you have cart service, regular catering or a restaurant in the building.
But now in the new-age of mobile apps and on-demand services, mass food delivery has gone digital.
Foodee, a Vancouver tech start-up, offers online lunch delivery services to corporate clients in Vancouver and Toronto from local restaurants and food trucks. The company recently raised $6 million in funding to continue their North American expansion into another 10 new cities.
Last year Foodee raised $3 million and began its US expansion into Austin, Denver and Philadelphia. The latest venture capital will help solidify the brands presence in current markets and expand its tech workforce and call centre. The next two cities on Foodee’s list are Minneapolis and Atlanta.
