Vancouver’s Olympic Cauldron To Light up In Honour Of 2018 Winter Olympics

Just before the world views the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, Vancouver plans to light up.

The 32.8 foot tall, 2010 olympic cauldron, located in the Jack Poole Plaza, will be lit up once again. Equipped with five burners, the epic structure has become a Vancouver landmark.

Vancouver Olympic Cauldron Lights up

The landmark will be lit on Thursday, February 8th from 5pm to 7pm in honour of South Korea’s opening ceremony. Last, the cauldron will be lit on Saturday, March 17 from 5pm to 7pm for the closing ceremony.

The cauldron was relit for numerous games in the past including: London 2012, Sochi 2014, and Rio 2016.

In addition, numerous other Vancouver Landmarks will light up red during the duration of the olympics.
