A new addition is coming to the streets of downtown Vancouver today.

The Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting takes place today. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Vancouver Art Gallery (750 Hornby Street).

Similar to past years, there will be four Christmas trees erected, with the tallest standing 76 feet tall – 22 feet taller than the massive Christmas tree in Surrey.

The evening will also include live music, sweet treats, food trucks, fun activities, and much more.

In addition to Vancouver’s Christmas tree lighting up, a number of other attractions are beginning as well.

The Robson Square Ice Rink and VanDusen Festival of Lights are both ready to open for the upcoming season today.
