Fake social media accounts claiming to belong to retailers at the new Tsawwassen Mills outlet mall has led to mall officials releasing a warning.

Earlier in the week, accounts declaring to represent major retailers including Nike, Adidas, and Sephora emerged and encouraged social media users to follow them and repost a screen-shot of the account to win gift cards to the store for up to $500.

If you’re an Instagram user, you likely noticed or heard of at least one friend reposting on their account with high hopes of securing store credit.

Users grew suspicious when accounts promising gifts for the first 500 people suddenly increased their offer to the first 1,000 people after hitting the initial benchmark.

Unfortunately, it all appears to be a scam and all accounts have been reported.
