The inevitable changes to the SkyTrain are finally happening.
If you’re feeling a bit lost in transit these days, we’ve got the scoop on everything you need to know to get you through TransLink’s latest switch-up of operating patterns.
Don’t worry, it’s not as scary as it sounds.
Since the Evergreen Extension is nearly complete and ready for take-off, so to speak, TransLink has made the following changes to the current SkyTrain network in which you are most likely accustomed to:
- The Expo Line will have two routes – One Expo Line train will continue to travel from Waterfront and King George stations, while a second Expo Line train will operate between Waterfront and Production Way-University stations.
- The Millennium Line will no longer travel between VCC-Clark and Lougheed Town Centre stations, continuing on to the Evergreen Line once launched.
The latter is probably the most significant change, but we’re here to clarify, with the help of TransLink.
If Lougheed Town Centre Station is part of your regular commute, TransLink has provided a handy visual to make better sense of your new route.

If you hop on the train at the Production Way-University Station, here is a visual to help you understand the major changes that will affect your commute.

Instead of transferring from the Millennium Line to the Expo Line at Columbia and Waterfront stations, you will be able to transfer at the following (3) locations only:
- Commercial-Broadway Station
- Lougheed Town Centre Station
- Production Way-University Station
And if you’re still confused, TransLink urges you to check out their live streams on Facebook and Periscope for more clarification.
