This Science World Ad Has Been Labelled "Too Violent" For T.V.

Science World’s latest commercial features a man getting kicked in the groin, getting shot by a flaming arrow and finally getting hit by a bus to top it off. You won’t see it on T.V. anytime soon though.

The commercial, titled “Positively Painful” focuses on a man who stays positive after suffering a short series of painful events. The Television Bureau of Canada, a self-regulating body of Canadian broadcasters has labelled the commercial unacceptable for TV and have rejected the script.

“From our experience, using comedy and an element of the unexpected is a great way to make science facts stick, and that’s what we’re all about.” said Suan Teo, the marketing director for Science World.

Upon rejection, Science World and ReThink, the creative agency behind the commercial have uploaded the commercial onto YouTube. In has raked in over 8,000 views in less than 48 hours.

This isn’t the first time Science World’s ads caused a stir. Last year it launched a campaign for their ‘Science of Sexualityv’ exhibition which was deemed inappropriate and even disturbing.
