Telus has announced it will increase rates for its high-speed internet service on July 1, 2016.

The monthly rate for internet will increase by $5 a month. The change will be reflected in the internet section of July bills.

According to a statement posted on the Telus website, the price hike is a result of the high costs associated with upgrading their networks and services across Canada.

“The cost of providing TELUS Home Services continues to increase as we continue to upgrade our networks and services in both dense urban and remote rural areas across Canada, to keep our customers connected and maintain our world-class communications service.”

The news comes within days after Shaw announced it plans to increase internet, TV, and phone rates on August 1.

Fortunately for Telus customers however, phone and TV rates will not be affected.

recently telus came knocking on our door, May 15, 2016 with the promise of a 50 inch Samsung television Model no UN50J5200AFXZC. We were assured by the person who came to our door this television would be delivered to our door in two weeks.

After two weeks we called Telus and they told us this television is no longer available. I assured them this contract they offered is binding and they made excuses. these excuses changed over the weeks. It went from two weeks, to two to four weeks, to four to six weeks, now is up to 8 weeks and with a postal strike looming.

I contacted Samsung and this television is available but with Telus 12.1 billion dollar and their pay increase coming, they are still avoiding fulfilling their contract. Avoid Telus at all costs. They’re predatory and their business ethics and morals are non-existent. Much like the BC Liberal party.
