A little Canadian humour in Public Service Announcements goes along way as the Surrey RCMP have found. In the Winter of 2015 the Mounties welcomed a new officer to a newly created position: the Cold Weather Specialist. Corporal Crisp took on the responsibility of sharing cold weather safety tips as part of a winter safety campaign.
So who is this handsome guy with a moustache? Cayden Crisp aka Corporal Crisp aka “Mr. Freeze” hails from Beaver Creek, Yukon. He likes responsible drivers and Gore-Text and dislikes bald tires and frothy cappuccinos. When he’s not preventing crime and serving his community he likes skiing or polar bear swimming. His heroes are Sam Steel and Tom Selleck.

His safety tips and advice on crime prevention are generally responses to trends the Surrey RCMP notices in the community. Whether its a specific spike in property crime or a type of climate-related traffic collision, Cpl. Crisp is on the job. “We’re hoping just his mere presence alone will enable us to reduce some of our more common property crime and traffic collisions to help drive home the message about safety on our streets and in our homes.” –
Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Scotty Schumann.
