A streaking fan had his 15 seconds of fame come to a rough end when he was levelled by B.C. Lions’ defensive back Marcell Young.

The incident took place on Saturday during the second quarter of the BC Lions home opener against the Montreal Alouettes.

In the video below, a fan is seen running onto the field at B.C. Place in a jersey without pants or shoes. Part way across the field he received a quick shoulder hit from Young and immediately hit the ground.

According to the VPD, the streaking fan, a Surrey man in his 20s, was escorted out of the building and transported to the VPD jail where he spent the night “due to his degree of alcohol intoxication.”

He was released the following morning.

The man, who has not been publicly identified, will not be charged with a criminal offence but has received a $115 fine for trespassing and year-long ban from B.C. Place.
