Andrew Wiggins, dubbed the next big thing in the Basketball world was recently seen wearing a Vancouver Grizzlies hat during a post-game interview. The Grizzlies, who were Vancouver’s first and only NBA team, moved out of the city in 2001 due to a poor performance record, which further translated into low ticket sales.
The Vancouver Grizzlies memories however still live on, and there is even current petitions trying to bring the team back to Vancouver. Would a basketball team work in Vancouver the second time around? Absolutely! Vancouver’s basketball growth has grown tremendously.
Andrew Wiggins, is a 6’8″ Canadian college basketball player from Ontario who currently attends the University of Kansas. He was the top college basketball recruit in 2013 and is considered the favorite to be selected with the top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Earlier this year, Nate Robinson, a player for the Chicago Bulls (a city who’s hockey team has bad blood for Vancouver) was spotted entering a NBA game with a Vancouver Canucks shirt and a Whalers hat.
