Shaw quietly revealed that it will be raising rates for residential TV, internet, along with phone plans this summer.
Based out of Calgary, the broadband company recently added a notice to their website that mentioned prices would be increasing as of August 1, 2016.
The brief notice states that the demand for their services is rapidly increasing.
“Canadians are using the Internet more and viewing more TV shows and movies on more devices than ever before.”
According to reports (and rumours), the rate increase will vary by package, including a $2 to $5 increase for TV packages, and $2 for internet packages.
Customers will officially know their new rates through an ‘advanced notification’ on their monthly invoice.
“These rate increases help to support future Internet and network enhancements and quality programming our customers have come to expect from us.”
The new prices will likely be maintained until at least summer 2017, adds Shaw.
