Rescuers were able to successfully help a young boy falling from Whistler’s Peak Express chairlift, and the heroic moment was all caught on video.
The footage posted to YouTube by Christopher Sakai has been watched over 40,000 times within the first 48 hours, and states that the boy wasn’t seated correctly on the lift shared with 3 other skiers.
The boy ultimately slipped and is seen holding onto the chair with the three other people holding onto his arms. Rescuers quickly huddled in the meantime and held up tarp. The boy is seen falling to a safe landing at the end of the video, and was reportedly uninjured.
“Luckily, the quick thinking of the lift operator stopped the lift and got six guys to save the child,” Sakai wrote in the description box.
