Relive The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Through Video Games

Remember when Vancouver hosted the XXI Olympic Winter Games? It was 6 long years ago that the 2010 Vancouver Olympic & Paralympic Games began. Aside from international competition and tourism, the sporting event included merchandise, an episode on The Simpsons and even video games.

The ‘Vancouver 2010’ video game was developed by Eurocom, published by Sega and distributed by EA Games across Windows, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It featured many playable real-world Olympic events and challenges for skiing, snowboarding and speed skating. It was released in the weeks prior to the 2010 games.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, a fun sports and party game was released in 2009 ahead of the games. It was co-developed and co-published by Sega for Nintendo Wii & DS platforms. There was also a Mario & Sonic crossover game for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics.

Sonic, Tails and other legendary characters are featured in the game play video by YouTuber TheRealSonicFan from Puerto Rico.
