The 2014 PNE Star Showdown, one of the hottest talent competitions in British Columbia, returns to the Fair at the PNE on August 16, 2014. Entries are now being accepted for this year’s contest, which is open to all amateur performers from across the province ages six and up. With $10,000 in prize money and gifting, plus $22,500 in scholarship money from New Image College, this year’s competition is set to be fierce!
Whether you’re a singer, dancer, musician, magician or stand up comedian – this is your chance to shine. The PNE Star Showdown will showcase the best performers from across the province throughout four days of competition. Past winners include Burnaby’s own Michael Bublé and Mission’s Carly Rae Jepsen.
During the semi-finals, competitors will face off daily for first, second and third place prizes in one of three age categories for a chance to go head-to-head in the finals. There, they will compete against all ages for the coveted first place prize and official title of the winner of the 2014 PNE Star Showdown.
To audition for this year’s Star Showdown, solo acts and groups of up to eight competitors are asked to submit an entry form along with a performance DVD or YouTube link no later than 4:00 pm on May 30, 2014. Entries can be submitted online at www.pne.ca/starshowdown, or mailed to or dropped off at the PNE administration building (2901 East Hastings St, Vancouver).
