Pay It Forward With Metropolis at Metrotown + $50 Gift Card Giveaway

What could you do with $10 to make someone’s day?

In support of Pink Shirt Day and its anti-bullying initiatives, Metropolis at Metrotown is hosting a “Pay It Forward” Contest in the month of February to encourage simple acts of kindness.  For each entry received, Metropolis at Metrotown will donate $1 to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund up to a maximum of $2,500.

How It Works:
Submit your ideas for what you could/would do with $10.00 for someone. With each Pay It Forward idea, you’ll automatically:

  • Be entered for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree to Metropolis at Metrotown, and $500 to a local charity!
  • Have $1 donated to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund on behalf of Metropolis at Metrotown

It’s a win-win situation for everyone!

604 Now participated in “Pay It Forward” earlier this month by challenging our bloggers to come up with 5 acts of kindness they would do for a friend, or a stranger. Each blogger received $10 and had 2 hours to come up with, and carry out their simple acts of kindness.

Here’s what they came up with:

1. Reaching out to an old friend you’ve been meaning to contact and meeting up while enjoying two beverages and snacks.
Restaurant of choice: Tim Hortons.
Why: Cheap coffee, cheap snacks, great quality.

2. Purchasing warm clothing and personally delivering it to someone less fortunate.
Store(s) of choice: Bentley or H&M.
Why: With sales up to 70% off select items at Bentley, it’s easy to find 2-3 items including mitts, scarves, and toques to help warm someone’s day. H&M also has great alternatives including shirts for just $6.95!

3. Picking up a calendar and delivering it to the busiest friend or family member in your circle.
Store of choice: Calendar Club.
Why: There’s always that one person in your life who’s often clueless as to what day of the week it is because there forced to be so busy. Getting them a calendar is a simple, and tactful product to helping them create a schedule on balancing their work/school life, and creating time to spend with their friends or family.

4. Buying someone you don’t know a quick massage.

5. Making one of your parents a warm meal
Store(s) of choice: Superstore or T&T
Why: There’s no better feeling than coming home to a warm meal. Whether they have a career or not, all parents are busy with day-to-day responsibilities and cook themselves meals 9/10 times. To change that, head over to either Superstore and T&T and get some ingredients to make a nice meal. Given their our parents, we know it doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but just from the heart.
