The Pattullo Rehabilitation Project first began in May 2016 and now the bridge is ready to open fully to four lanes of traffic.

For safety purposes, there will still be overnight lane closes that were in effect before the rehabilitation work began.

The following closures will occur over the next few days to prepare the bridge to open fully:

  • 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24 to 5 a.m. Thursday, August 25
  • 8 p.m. Thursday August 25 to 5 a.m. Friday, August 26
  • 8 p.m. Friday, August 26 to 5 a.m. Monday August 29 (full weekend closure)

The closure that was originally scheduled for September 30th to October 3rd will no longer occur.

Work will still continue into the Fall, but no closures are necessary.

The repairs completed during its closure included:

  • milling off the asphalt surfacing from the deck
  • removing all deck concrete down to the top layer of rebar
  • repairing concrete delamination and cleaning or replacing rebar
  • repaving the deck area with a concrete overlay

67 full-depth repairs were completed to 1,180 square metres of the 79-year-old bridge.
